If You Get Laid Off

  • 1

Keep your termination slip. This is proof of layoff and helps us update your referral status correctly.

  • 2

Come down to the hall. As soon as you can, come to the hiring hall front desk and let us know you were laid off.

  • 3

Sign (or re-sign) the books. We’ll check your eligibility, update your date, and make sure you’re on the proper book for your classification.

  • 4

Ask what’s available today. Staff can show you current calls, upcoming work, and answer questions about travel, shifts, or contractor info.

  • 5

Update your contact info. Make sure your phone, email, and address are correct so you don’t miss a call-out or text blast.

What You Can Expect

  • You stay in good standing as long as your dues and fees are kept current.
  • The books are dispatched in order and by the rules – no favorites, no side deals.
  • Calls change daily. Checking often gives you the best shot at getting out quickly.
  • Staff can explain travel opportunities, shift info, and contractor expectations.
  • If something feels off about your layoff, talk to us so we can look into it.
