Steven Perez IBEW • Workforce Recruitment & AI Integration

Workforce Recruitment • Digital Organizing • AI

I use AI + IBEW organizing skills to build digital tools that fill calls.

I work at the intersection of field organizing, workforce recruitment, and technical systems – building AI-assisted websites like this one, forms, and campaigns that help Locals bring more people into the IBEW and keep them engaged. I do have a resume but felt this was a better showcase.

IBEW Organizing Experience

My work is rooted in real-world IBEW organizing. I’ve been on both sides of the table – as a member on the job, and now in roles focused on workforce recruitment, outreach, and Local Union development.

What I focus on

  • Building recruitment campaigns that are simple to understand and easy to run.
  • Helping NECA partners and IBEW members foster feelings of friendship through culture.
  • Creating easy to use tools that any Local can adopt without needing a full IT department.

1.
Listen first.
Understand what a Local actually needs: calls to fill, trades to target, contractors involved.
2.
Map the funnel.
Job fairs, online interest, referrals, and apprentices – one clear intake path.
3.
Build the tools.
Forms, automations, website sections, and communication templates.
4.
Hand it off.
Make sure organizers and reps can run it without needing me in the room.

How this website was built with AI

This site itself is part of the story. I used AI as a partner to plan, design, and write the code – then deployed it through my hosting account using cPanel.

Build process - How Did This Website Happen?

  • Outlined what I wanted: a place to show AI work, organizing experience, and projects.
  • Used AI Prompt Engineering to generate the content structure, sections, and copy in my voice.
  • Used AI to produce the HTML + CSS for a single-page responsive website.
  • Edited text, added IBEW-specific details, and adjusted sections to match my work.
  • Uploaded the files through cPanel and connected them to my domain.

Technology used

  • Static HTML + CSS (no framework required).
  • Responsive layout for desktop and mobile.
  • cPanel file manager / FTP to host the site.
  • AI assistance for copywriting, layout, and refactoring.
